Financial Audit Results: Marc Taub and Scott Goldberg of auditing firm, ERE, gave the board of directors an overview of the draft of ONA’s financial audit results. Marc and Scott also notified the board that they are working on the organization’s taxes.
Jane said that she and Neil (ONA Treasurer) have gone over the results with ERE in advance of the call. The board was also given several documents to review prior to the call.
Marc and Scott’s overview included:
- recommendation for communications and suggestions for internal financial controls -overview of financial statements for 2008
- overview of any deficiencies in current practices
Following the review, board president, Jon Dube made a motion that the 2008 financial statements be accepted, approved and filed. The board approved the motion.
Other board business: Jane updated the board about the transition of treasurer duties from Neil Budde to Jim Brady. The day-to-day budget management will transition to Jane and the treasurer will oversee the budget management with an accountant reviewing the budget as needed.
The board also approved setting up an ONA Advisory Board panel. More discussion to come on how to move forward with that initiative.
