Below are the nominees for the 2021 Board of Directors for the Online News Association.
A total of eight candidates — four new nominees and four incumbents, representing a wide and diverse range of digital media — are running for six open seats in the 2021–22 Online News Association Board of Directors election.
There are a total of 16 seats on the ONA Board, including one appointed, non-voting student representative. Eight members were in the middle of their terms and not up for re-election. The other eight directors were at the end of their two-year terms or appointments. For the 2021-22 Board term, two seats will be appointed by the Board following the election.
Terms are for two years and begin Jan. 1, 2021.
The election opens on Oct. 20, 2020. In order to cast a ballot, voters must be an active ONA member as of Oct. 16.
Active members can log in to their member account to claim their ballot credentials.
Voting closes Oct. 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
