Election results for the ONA Board of Directors

The results are in for the 2025-26 Board of Directors election. ONA members voted for their favorite candidates from a slate of 10 leaders in digital journalism.

We are pleased to welcome Donesha Aldridge, Executive Producer of Digital Content at WXIA 11Alive, as the newest member of the board. She will join three re-elected board members for a two-year term beginning on Jan. 1, 2025.

Re-elected board members:

• Ashley Alvarado, Vice President of Community Engagement and Strategic Initiatives, LAist – Southern California Public Radio
• Imaeyen Ibanga, Presenter and Senior Producer, AJ+
• Rodney Gibbs, Head of Audience and Product, The National Trust for Local News

The board will appoint two additional seats by the end of the year to meet specific organizational goals. We will also open applications for the Early Career Board Officer role, a fantastic leadership and learning opportunity for someone with three or fewer years of experience in journalism or a student in their final year of college/university.

This Thursday: Talk to legal

Media and entertainment legal experts Farrah Vazquez and Chris Weathers of Davis Wright Tremaine will join ONA Thursday, Oct. 10, to discuss legal considerations around AI for freelance journalists and news organizations.

This virtual event is open to all. Tickets are $25 or free for ONA members.
