New OJA honor for science journalism

Exciting news: The Online Journalism Awards will feature a total of $21,000 in cash prizes over three years for winners of the 3M Truth in Science Award, thanks to a new partnership between 3M and ONA to support journalists and address misinformation. The award will honor science journalism that demonstrates excellence in educating and engaging audiences across issues such as health and wellness, climate change, STEM education and careers, scientific innovation and the role of science in society.

Submissions for the 2022 OJAs open May 5. Check out the 2021 finalists as you get ready to share your best work from the past year.

Get ready for ONA22 registration

Our annual conference gathers the journalism community for a powerful experience that leaves attendees with one dominant feeling: “I’ve found my people.” The conference is also the main fundraiser that supports the resources we provide throughout the year. For ONA22, we are introducing a few changes to registration to make attendance more accessible while sustaining our nonprofit mission. Learn about our approach to ONA22 registration, including pass options for organizations of different sizes and all the details on early bird rates, group discounts, tickets to the awards ceremony and more.

For updates on opportunities to contribute to the conference, including volunteer positions, sign up for the ONA22 newsletter. The next issue is on April 28.
