Analyze reader trends to inform your 2022 strategy

We are partnering with Chartbeat to kick off 2022 with a look at the latest reader trends across their network. News teams have spent a lot of energy reacting to heightened levels of uncertainty and frequent changes the past couple of years. As we move into the third year of the pandemic, it’s important to leverage multi-year data and distill strategies for engaging readers during another period of unknowns. Register now for the Jan. 19 webinar.

Staff news: Farewell to Adam Martin and Adam Nekola

It’s a bittersweet moment at ONA this week as we say goodbye to two team members who are transitioning to exciting new opportunities. Meeting Manager Adam Martin is achieving his professional goal to serve as a Senior Meeting Director and will join the Institute of Transportation Engineers; his last day was Jan. 4. And after an impactful five-year run at ONA, Director of Technology Adam Nekola will move on to work as Senior Manager, Development and Technology, for Digiday; his last day is Jan. 7.

ONA is much stronger for their contributions, especially as we quickly scaled virtual programming in response to the pandemic and more recently, developed new approaches to simultaneously serve virtual and in-person audiences. We are proud to have been part of their career journeys. Many thanks and congratulations to Adam and Adam (“the Adams”)!

Tiffany Shackelford’s legacy

The newly launched Tiffany Shackelford Foundation is kickstarting their work by raising funds to support ONA’s Women’s Leadership Accelerator (#ONAWLA). After quickly meeting the initial target, the team has increased the goal to $25,000. The aim is to contribute $2,500 per year for the next 10 years, in Tiffany’s name, towards ONA initiatives to advance women in digital journalism. Donate today to carry on Tiffany’s legacy.

The Tiffany Shackelford Foundation is led by her husband, Aaron Castelo, and colleagues Laura Cochran, Barb Rosewicz, Kevin Goldberg and Matt Mansfield.
