Reminder: Apply by April 25 to be a general volunteer at ONA19. General volunteers work eight to 10 hours and help with everything from the registration desk to the exhibit spaces and special events. We are looking for people who love digital journalism and want to contribute to the conference’s positive and welcoming atmosphere.

From the archives: Teaching technology and design

We are sharing resources from the ONA archives throughout 2019, as we celebrate 20 years of inspiring innovation in journalism.

The Playful Tech in the J-School Classroom session at ONA17 offered inspiration to engage journalism students in technical, interactive projects with virtual reality, mobile games and news apps. Resources shared include a roundup of tips for gamification and teaching inclusive design, as well as example projects.
