Announcing the 2018 Journalism 360 Challenge winners!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 Journalism 360 Challenge! Journalism 360 — a joint initiative of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Google News Initiative and Online News Association — has awarded $195,000 to 11 projects that seek to help develop and expand best practices in immersive journalism, including virtual, augmented and mixed reality. The winning projects reflect a diversity of voices and include experiments with audio tools, volumetric tools, on-the-go production and other areas that reimagine what’s possible with immersive storytelling. Explore the 2018 challenge winners

We’re celebrating the best work in digital journalism this Saturday, Sept. 15 in Austin, Texas! Niala Boodhoo, host and executive producer of the award-winning radio show The 21st, will emcee the 2018 Online Journalism Awards Ceremony. Vote in the ONA Board of Directors election

Voting is now open for the 2019-20 ONA Board of Directors election. ONA members, cast your ballot to help shape the future of the world’s largest digital journalism organization. We have a diverse slate of 22 candidates — 17 new nominees and five incumbents — running for six open seats on the Board. Terms are for two years and begin January 1, 2019.
