AI Innovator Collaborative: Business and Operational Uses for AI

Join us for the March meeting of the AI Innovator Collaborative, a regular gathering for ONA members already using AI in journalism to connect and share ideas.

Meetings happen virtually once a month throughout 2024 on the second Tuesday, with the exception of September, when a meetup will happen in person at ONA24. Participants will have access to a Slack channel to connect between meetings.

This month we’ll discuss ways to tap AI for the business and operational side of your work. ONA board member and National Trust for Local News consultant Rodney Gibbs will lead the discussion. To spark ideas of how you could use gen-AI in non-editorial ways, Rodney’s pulled together a few examples of how organizations use AI to support their business and strategy efforts. We’d love to hear if your organization is already experimenting with AI in similar ways, and we’ll have a few breakout discussions so you can hear from more folks. Bring a couple of ideas and expect to leave with a bunch more you can try out over the next month.

If you’ve already signed up for the AI Innovator Collaborative, no need to sign up for each individual event.

This series is open to ONA members, and you’ll need your member number to sign up. Learn how to find your ONA member number or join ONA.

Funding for ONA’s AI in Journalism Initiative is generously provided by Microsoft. To learn more about supporting this AI programming, contact Hanaa Rifaey, Head of Strategic Partnerships, at hanaa@journalists.org.
