Thank you, Hollie Schultz!

After five years with ONA, our dear colleague Hollie Schutlz, Director of Awards and Community Resources, is moving on to a new opportunity to direct constituent engagement efforts and fundraising initiatives at George Washington University.

In her time at ONA, Hollie led the strategy and expansion of the Online Journalism Awards, one of the most prestigious awards program in news, and collaborated with the ONA Board of Directors, community members and other media industry leaders to honor and showcase exceptional work in areas such as science journalism, climate reporting and AI innovation. Hollie also significantly improved our internal processes for awarding fellowships and grants, including for programs supporting journalism education, leadership development and immersive storytelling. Among other achievements, as part of our fiscal sponsorship+ program, Hollie developed the grantmaking process and related resources to enable the launch of The Pivot Fund and its initial investments.

While goodbye is bittersweet, we’re excited to follow all that Hollie will accomplish in her new role. Congratulations, Hollie, and thank you for all your contributions to ONA!
