Save the dates: The 2024 Online News Association Conference (ONA24) is happening Sept. 18-21 in Atlanta.

Charo Henríquez is ONA’s new Board President

ONA board members elected a new slate of officers during their Jan. 25-26 meeting. We are thrilled to announce and congratulate these leaders: 

  • Charo Henríquez, President, two-year term
  • Niketa Patel, Vice President, two-year term
  • Andrew Fitzgerald, Treasurer, one-year term (re-elected)
  • Ashley Alvarado, Secretary, one-year term

As the Immediate Past President, David Smydra, will continue to support the board and serve in a non-voting role through December 2024. Learn more about ONA’s board leadership.

Highlights from ONA’s impact in 2023

In 2023, over 3,200 people supported our mission through paid ONA membership and more than 90 organizations invested in ONA to deliver programming and resources that meet the journalism community’s evolving needs. 

Thanks to our work, women executives found peer support for their career journey and the challenges facing their teams; newsrooms exchanged ideas and set standards for adopting emerging tech; and nearly 200 journalism projects earned global recognition for their impact.
