Introducing the 2022 MJ Bear Fellows
Six journalists have been selected as 2022 MJ Bear Fellows. The fellowship identifies and supports journalists under 30 whose work represents the best of digital news. This year’s fellows are:
- Alex Castro, Senior Social Media Producer, GMA Network
- Caitlin Hernández, Southern California Public Radio
- Jessica Lee, Reporter, Snopes
- Myrka Moreno, Audience Engagement Producer, The 19th
- Tazeen Pathan, Data Consultant, Freelancer

During the yearlong program, fellows will benefit from guidance on digital journalism projects, networking within the industry and opportunities to showcase their work to ONA’s global community. The fellowship will kick off with a trip to Los Angeles for ONA22.
The MJ Bear Fellowship is made possible through generous contributions by the MJ Bear Estate, friends of MJ Bear and ONA, MSN International and Microsoft.
