Six students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been selected for the 2021 HBCU Digital Media Fellowship at the virtual 2021 Online News Association Conference (ONA21), June 22–25.
Fellows will work closely with lead mentor Michael Grant, Founder of Get Current Studio, on digital projects during ONA21. They will receive training and mentorship on emerging technologies and approaches to reporting, get access to insights from industry professional leading ONA21 sessions and participate in networking during the conference. HBCU fellows also benefit from a complimentary one-year ONA membership and will join a talented community of fellowship alumni.
The 2021 HBCU Digital Media Fellows are:
- De’Vante Martin, Grambling State University
- Jalondra Jackson, Clark Atlanta University
- Noella Williams, Florida A&M University
- Sherdell Baker, Hampton University
- Sierra Lyons, Florida A&M University
- Zanaria Bowens, Prairie View A&M University
