Legal Affairs: Resources for covering U.S. elections

Every month, we share updates and resources from ONA’s Legal Affairs, News Ethics, and Standards Committee and our partners.

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and the National Press Photographers Association have partnered on a comprehensive guide for journalists covering 2020 election events. They are also offering training for journalists in Milwaukee and Charlotte ahead of the conventions. As always, RCFP’s legal hotline is also available to journalists with questions. Learn more.
