How to follow ONA19 remotely

If you can’t make it to New Orleans for ONA19, there are still tremendous opportunities to absorb knowledge shared at the conference, and even participate in discussions from afar. We’ve pulled together a guide on how to follow ONA19 from home, with directions on how to livestream sessions, Twitter lists to follow and what resources will be posted after the event.

From the archives: Legal questions from 2003

We are sharing resources and stories from the ONA archives throughout 2019, as we celebrate 20 years of inspiring innovation and excellence in digital journalism.

We’re looking back to 2003 to see what legal questions were facing publishers who were grappling with the move to digital. “You don’t know as a journalist what law will apply to you,” said Stuart Karle, then-associate general counsel for Dow Jones & Co., Inc in a session at our annual conference. As the digital landscape continues to change, we need to stay savvy — you can learn all about media law for journalists at the Media Law Resource Center’s pre-conference workshop on Sept. 11 in New Orleans.

My @ONA connection goes back to 2005, we were all lucky to have crossed paths with great people in our quest to interpret digital journalism. #Happy20thONA, and cheers to all! — Mario Tedeschini-Lal
