Last call for the Women’s Leadership Accelerator!

The deadline to apply for the 2019 Women’s Leadership Accelerator is this Friday, Nov. 30, 11:59 p.m. The Accelerator is a tuition-free, yearlong program aimed at advancing women in digital journalism. The program kicks off with a week of immersive programming, one-on-one mentoring and site visits Feb. 10-15, 2019, in Los Angeles. Participants receive support and coaching throughout the year as they work on a challenge specific to their careers. The program culminates in a workshop at ONA’s annual conference in New Orleans — registration, travel and lodging to ONA19 are provided.

Expanding multilingual journalism

How might small newsrooms manage multilingual content? Start with demographic data of your audience to demonstrate need, said the experts in this ONA18 session on multilingual newsrooms. Then prioritize and focus on building relationships. Being multilingual is not about having every story available in each language, and there are stories that don’t work in multiple languages. Listen to the conversation for more insights and tips.
