Ken Sands joined Bloomberg in February 2010 as Online Editor of its new, web-based division designed to provide insight and analysis of government activities and policies that affect business decisions. Ken previously worked as executive editor for innovation and publication at Congressional Quarterly. Prior to that he was online managing editor and online publisher at The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash., a newspaper that he joined as a night cops reporter one week after graduation from the University of Oregon.
Before joining the ONA board, he served on the board of Associated Press Managing Editors. He also created and ran the Reader Interactive Project for the APME Credibility Roundtables project. He is co-chair of the ONA Events Committee and helps conduct the ONA Parachute Training workshops. He is married and has two children. In his spare time he daydreams about when he had enough spare time to enjoy backpacking and mountaineering
