ONAPDX: Lunch and talk: Networked News, Racial Divides

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA PDX

The UO Demystifying Media Series and ONA-PDX invite you to a luncheon and discussion with Susan Robinson, PhD from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Robinson is a leading researcher on how newsrooms are adjusting to the digital age and on how journalists interact with communities—has authored a guide for white reporters on how to cover diverse communities. Robinson’s forthcoming book Networked News, Racial Divides: How Power and Privilege Shape Public Discourse in Progressive Communities “examines obstacles to public dialogues about racial inequality and opportunities for better discourse in mid-sized, liberal cities,” much like Portland.
Please RSVP by April 18. Limited space is available.
