ONA x Newsroom Robots AI Leadership Summit

The Online News Association (ONA) and Newsroom Robots are teaming up to convene leaders and change agents to explore AI’s impact on the news industry—especially on newsroom leadership and culture. Meet us in Detroit for the ONA x Newsroom Robots AI Leadership Summit, with two days of programming that includes:
  • Keynote conversations and workshops to frame the opportunities AI is bringing to our industry and learn frameworks for product innovation and mapping desired futures — with insights from Nikita Roy, Founder of Newsroom Robots Labs; Upasna Gautam, Board Chair of the Newsroom Product Alliance and previously the Senior Product Management Manager for CNN; and Sam Guzik, Senior Director of Product Management at New York Public Radio and Senior Advisor at Future Today Institute.
  • Attendee-driven unconference sessions, pitched and voted on by attendees on site
  • Live recording of an episode of the Newsroom Robots podcast, an interview with Zach Seward, media entrepreneur and Editorial Director of A.I. Initiatives at The New York Times.

Thanks to the generous support of ONA’s AI in Journalism Initiative funders, we’re able to offer this program with free registration. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be included on both days of the Summit.

Attendees are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations, as well as meals outside of the summit. Check your registration confirmation email for details on the summit venue and hotel recommendations.

Funding for ONA’s AI in Journalism Initiative is generously provided by Microsoft, the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation and The Joyce Foundation. To learn more about supporting ONA’s AI programming, contact Hanaa Rifaey, Head of Strategic Partnerships, at hanaa@journalists.org.
