Come and join the students of the USFSP chapter of the Online News Association at their inaugural, FREE event, the Data Play Date!
Adam Playford, the data director at the Tampa Bay Times and contributor in the award-winning series, Failure Factories, will be the keynote speaker.
Students will focus on ways to represent data online, and the event attendees will have the opportunity to work with professionals to learn how to create working products. The event will also provide instruction on the basics of data journalism, such as retrieving and mining data as well as using data to construct and support arguments. These topics will be addressed through seven breakout session, of which attendees may select four.
