What We’ll Do
Come join ONA St. Louis on Saturday, Feb 15, as we host a workshop at Saint Louis University on landing a job and making it in the journalism industry. While this event is focused on providing resources for students, all who are interested in learning more about careers in journalism are welcome to attend.
This month’s presenters include Stephanie Zeilenga, a St. Louis-based freelance writer and editor, and Cara Anthony, Midwest correspondent for Kaiser Health News. A third presenter will be announced soon!
What You Can Expect
Per usual, we’ll have free food, soda and other nonalcoholic beverages. We’ll be ordering this month from the U.R.B. The event will take place at Boileau Hall at Saint Louis University, located at 38 Vandeventer Ave. Free parking is available in Boileau Hall’s lot and metered street parking is available along Vandeventer.

11:30 a.m. to noon
We typically give people about a half hour to arrive at the venue. Take your time to sign in, grab some food and drinks, and mingle.
Noon – 12:15 p.m.
At the start of every event, we give a quick update the group on any upcoming events, initiatives in the works, etc. We will also introduce our speakers and break up into small groups.
12:15 – 12:35 p.m.
First table discussion
12:35 – 12:55 p.m.
Second table discussion
12:55 – 1:05 p.m.
Break
1:05 – 1:25 p.m.
Third table discussion
1:30 – 2 p.m.
We’ll take questions from attendees for a brief Q&A with our speakers. You can also submit questions in advance to stlouis@journalists.org.

For those who have never attended an Online News Association event before, we are part of the world’s largest association of digital journalists. Our mission is to inspire innovation and excellence among journalists to better serve the public.
You do not have to be a member to attend one of our meetups. We do ask that you RSVP well in advance, however, to help us better gauge how much food we will need to order.
