ONA STL: Diversity and inclusion in the newsroom

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA STL

For November’s meetup, we are partnering with Gateway Media Literacy Partners to host one of just a series of events that will be taking place during Media Literacy Week, where we look at the skills needed to think deeply about the media we consume.

We’ll be kicking off the event with a series of short lightning talks from some publications in the city as well as some community organizations. Then, we’ll have a 30-minute panel moderated by a member of the St. Louis Press Club followed by a short Q&A.

The list of panelists and lightning talk speakers for this event will be announced shortly. Be sure to check back later this week more details. There’ll be free food and drink for this event, please make sure to RSVP.

We’ll also be moving locations from to the Cortex, specifically the CIC@CET building at the corner of S. Sarah St. and Forest Park Ave. There will be parking available in the lot across the street for attendees. We will be in the “showroom.”

This will also be the very last meetup of this year for ONA St. Louis. We’ll be taking a break in December and we’ll be back at our usual spot at TechArtista in January.

If you are looking to help us organize one of our monthly events, take on a leadership role with ONA St. Louis or just have questions or concerns about the event, feel free to email us stlouis@journalists.org

Join us for a conversation on the skills needed to think deeply about the media we consume.
