What We’ll Do
Come join ONA St. Louis on Thursday, Aug. 23, for a panel discussion on web redesigns where some local publications and a web agency will reveal best practices and the lessons they learned while making their redesigns.
What You Can Expect
Per usual, we’ll have free pizza, local St. Louis beer, soda, and other non-alcoholic beverages. We’ll be ordering again this month from Pizza Head. The event will be held at Almanac, located at 719 N 17th St., Ste. #120, in downtown St. Louis. Almanac is in the Moon Brothers Carriage Lofts, a 5-story building at the corner of 17th Street and Delmar. Entrance is on 17th Street and Suite 120 is on the ground floor. Free street parking along 17th Street or meters on Delmar.
Please note: This event starts promptly at 6 p.m., so please arrive on time. If you have any issues finding the space or getting inside the building, please call Steph Kukuljan at 314-971-0615 or Veneta Rizvic at 314-269-6629.
Schedule
5:15 to 6 p.m.
We typically give people about a half hour to arrive at the venue. Take your time to sign in, grab some food and drinks, and mingle.
6 to 6:15 p.m.
At the start of every event, we gather together for a quick icebreaker and update the group on any upcoming events, initiatives in the works, etc.
6:15–6:45 p.m.
This month’s event on web redesign will feature four speakers: Nathan Sprehe of Almanac, Steph Zimmerman of St. Louis Magazine, Meera Nagarajan from Sauce and ONA’s own Margaret Schneider of Alley Interactive.
6:45–7 p.m.
We’ll then take questions from attendees for a brief Q&A with our speakers. You can also submit questions in advance to stlouis@journalists.org.
First-Timer?
For those who have never attended an Online News Association event before, we are part of the world’s largest association of digital journalists. Our mission is to inspire innovation and excellence among journalists to better serve the public.
You do not have to be a member to attend one of our meetups. We do ask that you RSVP well in advance, however, to help us better gauge how much food we will need to order.
