ONA SF: Google Tools and More for Your Newsrooms

 An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA SF

Join ONA San Francisco and Northwestern University for a special training session on how to use free Google tools that can help your newsroom build interactive charts, maps, visualizations and more!

Register now and take advantage of this great opportunity to receive expert hands-on instruction on the following tools (and possibly a few more, if time permits):

Google Trends, MyMaps, Earth Pro, Earth Engine Timelapse, Google Scholar, AutoDraw.com, data scraping with Google Sheets and Tabula (for scraping PDFs).

Light refreshments will be served.

Our Trainer:

This is a 3 hour hands-on workshop with Mike Reilley, a trainer with the SPJ Digital Tools program in association with the Google News Initiative. Mike is the Founder and Editor of The Journalist’s Toolbox, and a visiting professor in data journalism and multimedia at UIC.

PREPARING FOR THE TRAINING:

Doors will open at 5:30pm, and the training will begin promptly at 6:00pm. Please be on time so we can get through all of the material.
