Join ONA at our first East Bay happy hour, at Woods Bar and Brewery, just a few blocks from the 19th Street BART station (an easy trip from San Francisco). Meet and mingle with fellow Bay Area journalists and online media pros – and bring ideas for future events!
Joining us will be Justin Varilek, one of the founders of the new journalist/media social network Hackpack. Justin will share more about Hackpack, which will be one of the startups at Startup Alley at the ONA national conference in October, and also is interested in learning about how they can connect with Bay Area journalists and media startups.
ONA/SF Bay Area is a group hosted by the Online News Association for local professionals interested in the changing landscape of digital media and new technology. Gather with writers, editors, photographers, producers, technologists, developers, designers and more with an interest in the production of news for digital presentation. For more information on ONA, check out http://www.journalists.org.
HackPack.press helps publications and companies find, hire and manage journalists, photographers and videographers so they can tell the stories that matter. The community stands at over 9,000 media professionals in 148 countries working and collaborating on projects, including breaking news, features, investigative reports and content marketing. Companies including the BBC, Al Jazeera, NPR and Spoon Agency have used HP to hire members to produce feature stories, help as fixers or develop content marketing.
