It’s been a strange year for journalism with presidential criticism, “fake news” and Russian involvement in the U.S. election all making headlines and influencing the public’s perception of the news media.
But in the midst of the controversy, advancements in storytelling, technology and revenue generation continued unabated for much of the journalism industry.
Much of this innovation was on display earlier this month at ONA17 — the national conference of the Online News Association.
From immersive storytelling, to push notifications, analytics and the latest in journalism tech trends, the ONA17 Conference featured the latest in journalism innovation while highlighting the issues on the minds of some of world’s foremost journalists, newsroom managers and entrepreneurs.
For those who didn’t get the chance to attend ONA17, we’re doing our best to re-cap the conference as part of lively discussion about journalism innovation.
Join Dan Petty, Digital Director of Audience Development of Digital First Media and Stephanie Snyder, Engagement Specialist for Denverite as they offer their thoughts and take-a-ways from ONA17.
We’ll be gathering for drinks, snacks and networking at the Denver Press Club at 5:30pm on October 24. Hope to see you there!
