ONA Philadelphia: Hear from Lenfest grantees on new journalism biz models

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA Philadelphia

What biz models can sustain local newsrooms in the long run?

Join the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and ONA Philadelphia on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at The Philadelphia Inquirer for a discussion on new journalism business models.

A few of Lenfest’s Local News Business Model Challenge grant recipients will present on their funded work for about five minutes each, with time for Q&A and open discussion. The grantees are a mix of newsrooms and startups that have been experimenting with different ways to make revenue to support journalism. See the full list of grantees here: https://www.lenfestinstitute.org/innovation-grants/

Speakers:
• Jason Bade, Pico
• Dave Gehring, Distributed Media Lab
• Chris Wink, Technically Media
• Joan DiMicco, WBUR

There will be snacks!

P.S. The Inquirer will need a list of attendees’ names to get us all into the building, so be sure to RSVP on this page ahead of time.
