We are joining forces once again with the media night crew and the SPJ to present an evening about civility. If you’d like to craft, please register in advance on this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/crafting-with-comments-portland-media-night-tickets-30343277560
You need not register or reply here (but it won’t hurt anything either), but rather, go to the eventbrite page above.
You can also just show up and wing it, but easier for us if you let us know so we can get the right amount of food and pay for crafting supplies. Thanks!
Here are the details:
In the month that celebrates love, ONAPDX, SPJ Oregon Territory and the monthly Media Night gang explore creating civility in our divisive culture. Our guest speaker is Aja Bogdanoff of Civil Comments, a Portland-based company that provides a patent-pending peer review system to keep online comments non-toxic and fun.
We’ll also be learning some basic embroidery skills with a group-led craft project. Bring your best (or worst) reader comment and we’ll show you how to embroider it onto fabric, suitable for display, framing or ritualistic cleansing. Cost includes your own embroidery starter kit: hoop, fabric, needle and floss (thread.)
We’ll lubricate our compassion and our creativity with wine and cheese at Blackbird Wineshop & Atomic Cheese Bar while we chat with colleagues.
Our regular, no-cost Portland Media Night meetup with light snacks begins at 6 p.m. The guest speaking and stitching (cost of $7) begins at 7 pm.
