This meet up will be all about COLLABORATIVE JOURNALISM!
Collaboration and partnership are all the rage right now in our industry, and for good reason: News organizations are finding that working together on certain projects can greatly enhance their journalism, produce more impact and widen their reach.
We’ll talk about what collaboration means, who is doing it, and how local journalists can work with national newsrooms on collaborative projects. This training event will include a presentation by Stefanie Murray from the Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University and a workshop with Ziva Branstetter and Elizabeth Shogren from Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting.
We’ll start with a light breakfast (coffee, tea, bagels, fruit) at 9 a.m. The training session and workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Then at 11:30 a.m., we’ll break for a tour of North Jersey Media Group’s printing facility.
Note that North Jersey traffic is unpredictable, so if you miss breakfast, no worries. You can grab a bagel while we’re workshopping!
See you there!
