Come hang out with Code for Nashville, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Online News Association.
We’re going to get together for some booze, some conversation, and a couple of lightning fast presentations on the potential and power of the confluence of tech and journalism. We have a lot to offer each other in terms of our professions and perspectives, so come learn some stuff and meet people.
We’re a civic minded, all volunteer organization of coders, designers, researchers, project managers, and then some that focuses on using our skill and talent to improve the Nashville Metro government’s ability to serve its residents.
The Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ) is the largest and longest-running journalism organization in America. The Middle Tennessee chapter carries out training for newsrooms, advocates for government transparency, and defends journalists on First Amendment grounds.
Taken from their site:
“The Online News Association is the world’s largest association of digital journalists. ONA’s mission is to inspire innovation and excellence among journalists to better serve the public.”
