The Online News Association conference in Chicago is approaching and it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.
Let’s get together on Sat., Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Gramps in Wynwood. Anyone interested in digital news and storytelling is welcome.
This gathering is made possible by the Miami Herald Media Company and the South Florida Black Journalists Association.
The first 40 people will get 1 drink ticket. Gramps is extending its happy hour, which is half off on wells and select drafts, to our group from 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
Ask And Offer
As a huge fan of Shine Theory, we’re going to do an Ask and Offer exercise during the event. When you RSVP, you will be asked to answer these questions.
Ask: Share what you want to learn. Want to know how to make a GIF? How about learning Javascript? Don’t be afraid to ask.
Offer: Share what you can teach others in return. It can be anything, like pet training or headline writing tips.
Can’t make it? No worries. In the meantime, ask us what you want to learn and offer skills you can share with the group. We hope to get together more often.
