ONA LA: Producing ethnic media in Los Angeles. Let’s have a chat.

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA LA

Join us in Little Tokyo to hear Rafu Shimpo’s editor and reporters talk about what it means to produce ethnic media in the city of Los Angeles. The Japanese-English language newspaper Senior Editor, Gwen Muranaka, will lead the conversation together with Daniela Gerson, West Coast executive director for the Center for Community and Ethnic Media, and CSUN journalism professor Jessica Retis.

This will be a great opportunity to have a much needed discussion on the State of Ethnic Media reports edited by the Democracy Fund. The American Indian Media Today and the African American Media Today reports have just been released. Guest speaker Retis worked on Hispanic American Media Today report that will soon be launched.

This is a joint event with Rafu Shimpo, CSUN Journalism Department, the Center for Community and Ethnic Media, and ONA Los Angeles.
