• What we’ll do
ONA LA is excited to welcome ONA’s 2018 Women’s Leadership Accelerator (WLA) to Los Angeles! WLA is a yearlong program aimed at advancing women in digital journalism, and each year’s cohort of women leaders starts the program with a week of intensive sessions in LA. Help us welcome them to LA, celebrate women’s leadership, meet this year’s cohort, connect with speakers and mentors and say hi to the ONA staff who are in town.
We’ll open up the floor for lightning talks centered on women in leadership to introduce them to LA’s digital journalism community. Lady leaders: Come tell us about a project you took the lead on, teach us a leadership skill, or pose a challenge you’re working on to the room. Pitch your lightning talk by 6 p.m. PST Thursday, March 1 by emailing LA@journalists.org. You don’t have to be a woman to join us — anyone in the LA journalism community is welcome to attend.
