Join Hacks/Hackers LA and ONA LA for an exciting evening exploring the frontiers of journalism and technology with Robert Hernandez, Amara Aguilar and Peggy Bustamante from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. We’ll learn how USC trains journalists to code and build as well as take a tour of the JEDI desk and dig into how production for social media newsrooms really works. Plus we’ll take a close look at whole new forms of media, like 360 video, VR and AR.
We’ll also provide an update on the Hacks/Hackers LA “Follow the 990 Money” project and we’ll discuss the many ways for hacks and hackers, at any skill level, to get involved!
This event will be held in Wallis Annenberg Hall, the Annenberg School’s spectacular new building on the USC campus. Designed as a future-focused media laboratory and incubator, the building is centered on a state-of-the-art 21st-century convergent newsroom and features a 30-foot digital media wall, an integrated 500-terabyte private media cloud and lots and lots of cool futuristic glass!
