ONA LA: Diversity in Storytelling and the Newsroom

An ONA Local event, hosted by ONA LA

Join Journalism and Women Symposium (JAWS) and ONA LA for a mixer and a convo on diversity. We’ll be joined by special guest Diya Chacko of the Orange County Register, who recently moved from New Orleans and currently serves as the digital news director at the Orange County Register. The mixer will be hosted at Chapter One: The Modern Local in downtown Santa Ana – find us in the Red Room.

Take part in this informal gathering to discuss how you can bring diversity to your newsroom, how you can diversify your news coverage and how to diversify the sources you include in your stories – we’re open to all ears and ideas, take advantage of this opportunity to swap ideas and meet media folk from the area. Order good eats and drinks – Thrillist says Chapter One has “a rotating menu of eclectic dishes, such as duck fat fries, yakisoba stir-fry, fish and chips, goat cheese fritters and burgers.” Delta Sky Mag also notes “special care is put into the creation of the craft drinks, such as the Moscow Mule. Helpful bartenders serve as guides and will help you choose a drink or a craft beer to suit your tastes.”

TRANSPORATION
