Special honors for journalism impact, community building and moral courage
We are delighted to announced the 2025 recipients of the ONA Community Award, the James Foley Award for Conflict Reporting, the Impact Award and the Rich Jaroslovsky Founder Award. Part of the annual Online Journalism Awards showcase, these awards go beyond journalism projects and stories to celebrate individuals or small groups that have made exceptional contributions to the industry.
The 2025 honorees are:
- Feet in 2 Worlds, recognized with the ONA Community Award for an impressive decades-long record of training immigrant journalists and reshaping immigration coverage to be more inclusive, representative and community-driven.
- Arlette Bashizi, recipient of the James Foley Award for striking coverage of health, the environment, culture and the impact of conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and beyond.
- Andrew Losowsky, winner of the Impact Award and an inspiring example peers across the industry for his dedication to connecting journalists with the communities they serve.
- Robert Hernandez, selected by the ONA board as winner of the Rich Jaroslovsky Founder Award for outstanding contributions at the intersection of technology and journalism and history of service to ONA.

Celebrate journalism excellence in New Orleans
