Mike Reilley, Senior Lecturer at the University of Illinois-Chicago and founder of Journalist’s Toolbox AI, is leading another highly practical training on Dec. 11. This RTDNA/Google News Initiative session will demonstrate ways to combat misinformation and disinformation with tools such as Google Fact-Check Explore, WatchFramebyFrame, Deepfake-o-meter and Rolli. (More) Big change ahead for news products

Coming up in New York City: ONA is co-presenting a panel conversation during TVNewsCheck’s 11th annual NewsTECHForum to dive into the changes coming to UX and UI for news products. Rubina Madan Fillion, ONA board member and Associate Editorial Director of A.I. Initiatives at The New York Times, will moderate a discussion on how news product development is evolving alongside consumers’ changing habits and the mainstream adoption of AI-powered tools.

NewsTechForum is a one-day summit to be held Dec. 17 at the New York Hilton Midtown hotel in New York City. The session Rebooting the Digital Product Suite is happening 11-11:45 a.m. Registration is free for anyone who works in a newsroom or journalism support organization.
