ONA Weekly #491: Celebrating Jessica Strelitz

By on December 13, 2023

Save the dates: The 2024 Online News Association Conference (ONA24) is happening Sept. 18-21 in Atlanta.

Celebrating Jessica Strelitz

After nearly 11 years leading our partnerships team, Jessica Strelitz has decided to explore new opportunities beyond ONA and will transition from the organization at the end of 2023. We are incredibly grateful for her years of service to the team and this community.

Jessica has played a vital role in shaping ONA’s business strategy through significant growth and change. In her time here, the organization has quadrupled the number of partners we work with each year, and we have seen many of them grow from ideas and startups to highly influential businesses in the digital news industry. She helped lead a shift in how digital publishers collaborate with technology companies and other media-adjacent organizations, and created fresh and meaningful ways for everyone to get more involved in ONA’s mission — whether as ONA members, program sponsors or conference attendees and more.

Among numerous contributions, Jessica also directly supported many ONA programs, including organizing the Digital Leaders Breakfast Series, which highlighted the voices of emerging senior-level talent, and as a mentor for each cohort of the Women’s Leadership Accelerator since 2015. She has been a champion of caregivers, introducing scholarships and other support to facilitate access to ONA’s annual conference and, alongside The 19th’s Kari Cobham, co-founded Media Moms, a Facebook group for moms working in journalism.

It has been an honor and pleasure to have Jessica on the team, and we will see the continued impact of her work for years to come. Connect with Jessica on Linkedin — and join us in celebrating her many accomplishments at ONA!
