Thank you, Irving Washington!

As we bid farewell to 2022, we are also marking the end of Irving Washington’s tenure as CEO of ONA. Irving moves on to a new season of his career after 11 years of service to ONA. He is joining the Kaiser Family Foundation as a Senior Fellow to lead a new initiative focused on disinformation in health.

From ONA volunteers to partners to board members, many have described Irving’s leadership as “most inspiring” and “legendary.” With Irving at the helm, ONA doubled its staff, significantly grew investments into innovation training and community building for journalists and championed the movement to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry.

As a team, we are grateful and honored to have worked with and learned from Irving over the years. Join us in celebrating his incredible contributions to ONA and the journalism community. Use the hashtag #ThankYouIrving to share your favorite memories and photos.
