A cross-section of coronavirus newsletters

With rapid developments coming out each day, many news organizations have created new (or pivoted existing) newsletters to help their readers stay up-to-date on their latest coronavirus coverage. Here are a few we’ve noted, ranging from local to national news:

  • BuzzFeed’s Quarantine Today keeps it lighter for a younger audience, while their Outbreak Today is more news-heavy
  • The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Coronavirus Updates drills down their most important stories in a “What You Need to Know” section
  • Each issue of WBUR’s Coronavirus Coverage begins with a letter to the reader
  • In addition to recent coverage, The Washington Post is answering reader-submitted questions in their Coronavirus Updates
  • The Los Angeles Times’ Coronavirus Today is organized by city, state and national news

Guides for immersive storytelling

We’re launching a guide to photogrammetry photography by Journalism 360 Ambassador Ben Kreimer on May 1, the first of three guides to immersive journalism created by members of the Journalism 360 community. Other topics in the pipeline include AR/XR and immersive ethics, each diving into project case studies and thinking through important questions for creators. Subscribe to the Journalism 360 newsletter to get notified about each release. Journalism 360 is generously supported by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Submit your ONA20 pitches

The deadline to pitch sessions and speakers to the ONA20 Suggestion Box is April 23. This is your opportunity to let us know what you’d like to learn during our annual conference — whether it’s a session you’d like to conduct, or participate in.
