ONA joins AAJA statement

ONA joined the Asian American Journalists Association and other journalism organizations in a statement denouncing anti-Asian-American racism during the coronavirus outbreak. “In this time of heightening tensions and fears, it is more important than ever that the media collectively gets it right so that we don’t give others, including politicians and the general public, an excuse to get it wrong.” AAJA released guidance last month on how news organizations can take steps to refrain from using images and language that fuel xenophobia and racism.

ONA20 Suggestion Box deadline extended

We’ve extended the ONA20 Suggestion Box deadline to April 23, to give you more space and time to craft your pitches and find collaborators. The Suggestion Box informs most of the programming at our annual conference — we look forward to reading your ideas.
