Last call for Challenge Fund grants
The Challenge Fund for Innovation in Journalism Education supports teams of educators, students, news professionals and technologists to collaborate on experiments in local news coverage. We will award grants of up to $35,000 to innovative projects that align with this year’s themes: community engagement and civic participation, diversity, technology and building trust. Apply by Thursday, May 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Daniel Sieberg keynotes ONA Insights
Civil’s Daniel Sieberg will deliver the closing keynote on business models based on blockchain for sustainable journalism at ONA Insights on May 11. The daylong event will convene industry leaders to tackle digital revenue and audience engagement. Free training with ONA Rocky Mountain
The ONA Rocky Mountain group is hosting a half-day digital journalism workshop on May 18 at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Apply to ASNE’s free news leadership training
Apply by June 1 to attend the Emerging Leaders Institute, prior to #NAHJ18 in Miami. This free training, which provides travel reimbursements of $400, is open to mid-level news managers with diverse backgrounds seeking to develop core leadership and strategic skills.
