The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation was started after the kidnap and murder of American freelance journalist James Foley in Syria. JWFLF advocates for the freedom of all Americans held hostage abroad and promotes the safety of journalists worldwide. JWFLF has developed preventive journalism safety curricula for undergraduate and graduate universities teaching journalism and communications.
