I am a master’s student in the multi-platform journalism program at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I focus on data and graphics. I have reported on issues like the plea bargain system, safety at military hospitals and Baltimore police corruption, and a project on pedestrian fatalities on Maryland state roads was a finalist for an IRE Award and an SPJ D.C. Pro Dateline Award. I have held data reporting internships at U.S. News and World Report and Kansas City Public Television — the latter through the Dow Jones News Fund. I am passionate about explaining complex information in creative, easily-digestible ways — while preserving accuracy and nuance. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in visual communication design and psychology, and I held previous internships in marketing and web design. I hail from Akron, Ohio, and I’m always in search of a good taco.
