Sophie Ho is the newsroom audience analyst at The Washington Post. She has focused her career on navigating the intersection of journalism, analytics and product in search of new methods to understand audiences and inform strategy. As the first person to hold this role, she is the chief resource to the newsroom in how to use data to inform editorial decisions. Prior to her current role, she was a founding member of the Operations team tasked with helping SEO strategy and training editors and reporters on best practices. In 2017, she was part of the team that received the Edward R. Murrow Award Excellence in Social Media. She first joined The Post as the audience intern in summer of 2016 after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science. She has led panels at ONA, SRCCON and Google about journalism, analytics and digital strategy.
