Michael McKisson is an assistant professor of practice at the University of Arizona School of Journalism. Before coming to the school, he worked as a digital content producer at the Arizona Daily Star. He completed his Masters of Business Administration from Eller in 2013.
The courses he teaches are in product development, digital journalism, mobile application development and news startups. He’s also the advisor for the Online News Association club at the University of Arizona. His work focuses on emerging trends in digital journalism. The Online News Association at U of A has experimented with virtual reality storytelling, sensor journalism and drone journalism. Last year he earned his Part 107 certification from the FAA to fly drones commercially.
