José Manuel Noguera-Vivo is Head of Communication Sciences Department at Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM, Spain), where he teaches social media and journalism. He researched during his PhD the relation between mainstream media and Spanish blogs. Previously, he was teaching at USEK (Segovia, Spain). As journalist, he worked in newspapers, radio and tv. He is single author of five books about Communication, as well as more than fifty publications on social media, audience participation and journalism.

His main research lines converge in the intersection of technology, society and journalism, and more lately, the implications of News Sharing in online consumption. He has been Visiting Scholar in universities of Mexico, Finland, Sweden, Canada and USA. His personal blog is La Azotea (laazotea.blogspot.com), active since 2004.
