April Bethea is a news producer and social media manager at The Charlotte Observer. She's been a part of the newsroom's local elections coverage for 10 years, first as a reporter and now on the online team. In her current role, she curates the Observer's online voting guide and helps oversee election night coverage for the site. Bethea also serves as the early-morning producer for the online team. Bethea is a member of ONA, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2014, she attended the Kiplinger Fellowship for Public Affairs Journalism.
