Valerie is Executive Director and Research Scholar at the Information Society Project at Yale Law School where she leads a center studying digital technology, media and law. Prior to that, she was Information Society Project postdoctoral fellow and Knight Law and Media Program Director. She earned a BA in sociology from McGill University, an MSc in sociology from Université de Montréal and a PhD in sociology from City University London. Her area of interest are a) sociology of news work, b) digital technology and c) organizations and occupations. Her first monograph Social Media at BBC News: The Re-Making of Crisis Reporting was published by Routledge in 2015.
