Patricia is University Professor in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Media & Social Impact there. She is co-author with Peter Jaszi of Reclaiming Fair Use: How to Put Balance Back in Copyright, and author of, among others, Documentary: A Very Short Introduction and Communications Policy in the Public Interest. She has been a Fulbright and John Simon Guggenheim fellow. She serves on the board of directors of public TV’s Independent Television Service and on various editorial boards.
