After completing high school at Collège François-Xavier Vogt in Cameroon, Kevin N. Tchokodeu earned a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Regensburg and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany. He served as chair of the board of the Cameroonian Community of Regensburg and collaborated with both local and Cameroonian media, as well as the Ivory Coast Embassy in Germany, to document cultural and entertainment events organized by the community. In recognition of this commitment, the board team received a distinction from the Oberpfalz government during the 2018 Integration Prize ceremony.

In 2021, Kevin founded Neuelt, a Germany-based company that publishes the digital news platforms Afrik-View and The Times of Cameroon. These platforms provide news about Africa in general, and Cameroon in particular, for the French-speaking diaspora worldwide. Through this initiative, journalism students in Africa are given the opportunity to develop their skills and improve their career prospects. Kevin believes that journalism must evolve alongside digital transformation, embracing technologies such as artificial intelligence while also addressing key issues like security and ethics.

Through the MJ Bear fellowship, Kevin hopes to learn from experts and peers about the impact and potential of AI in digital journalism, and to present an ongoing project that leverages AI to make information more accessible.
